Mobile Computer Survival Training Program

In today's world computer literacy skills are a necessity...these skills are now a MUST HAVE for practically any job industry, even in entry level positions within those industries. It is also a fact that the Internet is rapidly becoming the way the government receives clients for eligibility determination. For those who do not have basic computer skills,or knowledge of how to navigate and utilize the Internet to access their benefits, these advantages will be unavailable.

Unfortunately the ones who need these skills the most are the ones that are hardest to reach....those hard to serve populations throughout New York City. We are presently teaching computer survival to the Homeless population. Our goal is to expand and deliver services to all those that are in need of our program.

 STARTFRESH NY ON THE MOVE is a program designed to meet the needs of all different populations.. No computer labs?  No problem! We can come to YOU! We are COMPLETELY MOBILE!! No space? You can train at OUR SITE! Either way, it works for YOU!

About the Program

The Computer Survival Program features a series of classes that highlight the important tools used in todays computerized society. It also has a concentration on the Internet and how it is utilized in todays job market and housing searches. Some of the classes include applications software instruction such as MS Word, Excel and Internet Explorer. In addition to the applications curriculum we facilitate two vital workshops Housing Search and Job Readiness.  ACCESS NYC a web site that allows clients to access and determine eligibility for over 40 City,State,and Federal benefits. STARTFRESH NY assets families by linking them to this new tool to combat poverty.The Department of Homeless Services has now mandated that clients entering the system MUST register with ACCESS NYC.
