STARTFRESH NY (SFNY) was founded in 2004 to provide critically needed services for those who are the hardest to assist, the homeless, victims of domestic violence, gay youth, substance abuser’s the formerly incarcerated and young people who are aging out of the foster care system.We are not limited to these populations.The current economy has produced large numbers of people that have lost their jobs.In an effort to leave no one behind we have expanded our programs to meet the rising demand for assistance.
Due to the economic climate there is a greater need for services to train and asssist people in gaining employment from all walks of life.S FNY focus is to assist families in various capacities.It might be linking clients to Government services or placing them in employment through our Back to Work contract.Through our Customer Service Training our clients upgrade their Computer skills givimg them a better opportunity to secure employment.
Our mission at STARTFRESH NY is to provide opportunities for those seek to improve their lives.To rise and achieve their full potential.In some cases our services help them just to survive in this economy.These are challenging times for everyone.No one in unaffected by the current economy.We are optomistic that the hardest times are behind us and that working together with our Community partners we will recover as a Nation stronger.
SFNY is committed to providing the tools needed to eliminate the economic and educational challenges that result in diminished prospects for women, youth, and families with limited resources. We foster positive choices by delivering training that merges the developmental of life skills, employment preparation, computer literacy, job placement, financial literacy, self-advocacy, and healthy living. These components work together to empower our clients.
At SFNY, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to have the basic necessities such as food, clothing, and a place to call home. Through providing referrals for housing, education, life-skills training and employment families will have the opportunity to Start Fresh enabling them to become self sufficient and achieve their full potential.
SFNY also has extensive relationships with companies in the private sector who contribute clothing, food, as well as other resources. Our partnerships with the private sectors allows us to assist our clients in emergencies and with the basic necessities. We have fostered our relationships with satisfied employers who have utilized our services to fill their positions. We have provided these companies with reliable workers. SFNY has a strong reputation for meeting the needs of everyone we serve, people who need and want to work, employers who need workers and are willing to provide opportunities when people have multiple barriers, and for all those that need a helping hand.
